Break up with your debt
Two appointments, one clear plan. The first is a free 30-minute Zoom call, and nothing is owed before you decide.
What to expect
You will know exactly what each appointment covers before you walk into it.
The first appointment
A free conversation to understand your situation and check whether you qualify. We review your income, debts, assets and budget, and explain which of the three routes are realistic for you.
You will leave knowing what your options are and what each one would mean month to month. There is no obligation and nothing to pay.
The second appointment
Held in person at the Combined Insurance location, with the Licensed Insolvency Trustee attending by Zoom. This is the documentation review and signing session.
We go through your paperwork together, the trustee confirms the details, and signatures are taken. From there the formal process begins.
After you sign
The trustee approaches your creditors. From that point they have 45 days to accept or decline. Trustees are sworn officers under the King's Bench, and they carry the formal side of the process so you do not have to.
What to have ready for the first call
- A rough list of who you owe and approximately how much
- Recent pay stubs or a sense of your monthly income
- An idea of your monthly living costs: rent or mortgage, utilities, food, transport
- Details of anything secured, such as a mortgage or car loan
- Any recent letters from creditors, collection agencies or the CRA
- Your questions. Nothing is too small to ask.
What it costs
Stated plainly, up front. The first consultation is free and nothing is owed before you decide to proceed.
The upfront fee can be paid in monthly instalments or by credit card. The monthly filing fee begins once signatures are made and continues until the debt is paid off.
Trustee fees in an insolvency filing are set under federal guidelines and are explained to you in writing before you sign anything.
Your full assessment, the plan built around your budget, document preparation, and coordination with the Licensed Insolvency Trustee. Payable in monthly instalments or by credit card.
The ongoing filing fee, starting once signatures are made and continuing until your debt is paid off.
No scare tactics here
You do not need to give in to pressure or panic to deal with this. The formal side of an insolvency filing is carried by a Licensed Insolvency Trustee, a sworn officer under the King's Bench, and that is deliberate: the law puts the weight on a regulated professional rather than on you.
Our job is to remove the psychological load. You will not be lectured, rushed, or asked to justify how you got here. We will tell you plainly what your options are, what each one costs, and what it will feel like month to month.

Yes. The first 30-minute Zoom consultation is free and carries no obligation. Nothing is owed unless you decide to proceed.
No. Rough figures are enough to start. Part of what we do in the first call is help you build an accurate picture, and we will tell you what to gather before the second appointment.
Any debt type can be addressed, including bank loans, personal loans, credit cards, lines of credit, payday loans and amounts owed to the Canada Revenue Agency. Secured debts such as mortgages and car loans are treated separately, because you keep paying those to keep the asset.
